I'm Blake Gurnee, a Life Scout working toward the rank of Eagle Scout. My Eagle Scout Service Project is creating a permanent Outdoor Bible Display and Scripture Walk at Fellowship Church in Hudsonville, Michigan. The display is designed to help children, teens, adults, families, church members, and visitors explore major stories from the Bible.

The Fellowship Church Outdoor Bible Display will create a permanent Scripture Walk in Hudsonville, Michigan, giving visitors an accessible way to explore major events and stories from the Bible.

What I'm Building

For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I will create an outdoor Bible Display made up of 10 wooden signs. Each sign will explain a major event or story from the Bible in a way that is easy for visitors to understand.

The five signs on one side will focus on the Old Testament, while the five signs on the other side will focus on the New Testament. Together, they will create a simple path through important parts of the Bible.

My goal is for children, teens, adults, and families to be able to stop, read, learn something new, and feel welcomed.

About Me

I'm Blake Gurnee, a Life Scout working toward the rank of Eagle Scout. For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I'm creating the Fellowship Church Outdoor Bible Display and Scripture Walk in Hudsonville, Michigan.

I chose this project because I wanted to do more than simply complete an Eagle requirement. I want to give back to my church by creating something useful that children, teens, adults, and families can continue using for years to come.

With the help of volunteers, donors, and the Fellowship Church community, I hope to turn this idea into a permanent resource that welcomes people and helps them explore the Bible.

Project Location

Fellowship Church in Hudsonville, Michigan.

The Outdoor Bible Display will be installed on the Fellowship Church property in Hudsonville, creating a permanent place where church members, families, and visitors can stop, read, and reflect.

What is the Scripture Walk?

The Scripture Walk is a series of ten outdoor wooden signs that guide visitors through important events and themes from the Bible. Five signs focus on the Old Testament and five focus on the New Testament.

Each station is designed to be easy to read outdoors while providing a starting point for learning more about the Bible.

Who is it for?

The display is intended for children, teens, adults, families, church members, and visitors. The goal is to make the outdoor area more meaningful and create a resource the church can continue using for years after the Eagle Scout project is completed.

Why I Chose It

This is bigger than an Eagle Scout requirement.

I want this project to be something the church can continue using after my Eagle Scout journey is complete.
